Who We Are
Begun in New York City in 2021, Odd Pictures was borne out of a fast-changing world and served as a stamp of identity for its founders.
Looking around and seeing a world get more and more artificial: with technology developing too quick to grasp, a public sphere filled with futile intensity, individuals and institutions cancelled, experts mistrusted, attention spans withering away, performance and pretense glorified and rewarded, with only the loudest voices getting heard, it was hard to know where to turn.
Odd Pictures hoped to create a place for the voices of those who didn’t want to scream into the void, a place to put their expression that felt meaningful and timeless, where real human truths could be discovered. Since then, Odd Pictures has explored themes of male loneliness, social competition, and nostalgia, through films on topics such as friendship, grief and young love.
